Summary
Geralt the Witcher—revered and hated—holds the line against the monsters plaguing humanity in this collection of adventures, the first chapter in Andrzej Sapkowski’s groundbreaking epic fantasy series that inspired the hit Netflix show and the blockbuster video games.

Geralt is a Witcher, a man whose magic powers, enhanced by long training and a mysterious elixir, have made him a brilliant fighter and a merciless hunter. Yet he is no ordinary killer. His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world.

But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good . . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.

Try listening to this book and series and not picturing Jason Statham as the Witcher. Good luck! Haha! This was a great read(listen)! The book starts a little awkwardly but quickly draws you in to the stories. A few times when the stories switch it’s hard to follow and then you get pulled in to that story and forget about being confused. More than anything the narrator makes this book amazing. Pacing is good and his voices are fantastic! Each character has their own particular voice and he keeps them so consistently through the whole book. Most voices have an English/Irish/Scottish accent but that’s fine by me. Sound of the recording and clarity are great. No skips or audio artifacts. Overall a great listening read.

Written as a prequel to the other novels in the Witcher series, The Last Wish tells multiple short stories and bounces from timeline to timeline to help flesh out Geralt's tale. It may seem a bit confusing at first, but as the story continues, all the pieces will start to fit together. The narrator did an amazing job of giving each character their own voices, and staying consistent with those voices throughout the book! I'll be continuing on with the series, and may even come back to this particular book again!

A wonderful book but the constant mispronunciations were a little frustrating. The narrator also often read too quickly to be clearly understood.

Really enjoyed this book. The narrator did a great job providing immersion with voices. This was a group of short stories in the world of the Witcher. None dragged on for too long so the pace was really good.

Maybe it was narration or it could have been the sound mixing and production. Very difficult to listen to at the same volume throughout.

A long time fan of the witcher games and shows, I decided to listen to the series. I was not disappointed. Sapkowski is a fantastic writer who immersed me in a fantastic fantasy world without being overwhelming. There were familiar strands from classic stories with still rich and new creations that made this book engaging, fun, and unique. Peter Kenny was a freaking awesome narrator. It felt like he enjoyed himself the whole time. Kenny truly brought the story to life with the use of accents and voices. I look forward to listening to the rest of this series.

I love how the narrator changes his voice in spectacular fashion. The book itself is top notch. The author does a fantastic job of painting each seen.

I listened to this while commuting, and the sound balance is rather awful compared to other audiobooks. Some characters are much quieter than geralt, while others are ten times louder. I had to constantly change volume. Some of the shouting dialogue was just ridiculously unbearable. Poor sound editing.

Great listen, Narrator was fine but not enough range to portray multiple characters.

Amazing narrator, I have a hard time with audiobooks usually but this was a great experience, I'll keep going with the series in this format knowing it's the same reader!

Excellent book. Will most definitely be what gets me to finally buy the trilogy of games. I originally was not a fan of the voice of Geralt but now feel it's a more true version than that of the games.
