Summary
The brand-new book from the bestselling author of The Break and The Woman Who Stole My Life
They're a glamorous family, the Caseys. Johnny Casey, his two brothers Ed and Liam, their beautiful, talented wives and all their kids spend a lot of time together - birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, weekends away. And they're a happy family. Johnny's wife, Jessie - who has the most money - insists on it. Under the surface, though, conditions are murkier. While some people clash, other people like each other far too much...Everything stays under control until Ed's wife Cara, gets concussion and can't keep her thoughts to herself. One careless remark at Johnny's birthday party, with the entire family present, starts Cara spilling out all their secrets. In the subsequent unravelling, every one of the adults finds themselves wondering if it's time - finally - to grow up?
'Marian Keyes is back with a witty and dramatic story about the Caseys, a family who seem perfect on the surface but hold some big secrets between them. When one of them starts to spill the truth after suffering concussion, things start to unravel in hilarious ways.' GOOD HOUSEKEEPING

It took me a while to get into this book, which is unusual for me as I love Marian Keynes books. I did end up really enjoying it though and would recommend it.

Excellent narration that really brought it to life. Keyes is a sensitive and thoughtful author, though this drags and the exposition limps to an obvious capitulation.

As someone who is just getting back into novels, I struggled at times with this one. It was very long, storyline was not moving quickly enough for my liking. Found it hard to remember which character belonged to which family. Luckily I had a hard copy which showed a family tree and I kept referring to that, initially. The last few chapters were the best and I was finally moved to tears.

Have tried to listen to this three times, cannot follow it- the narration runs into itself. No idea who each character is. Really disappointed

At first I thought there’s no way I Can follow who’s who in this extended family drama but you’ll settle in soon enough and Marion’s brilliant ability to create totally believable characters will draw you in in no time.

I was so looking forward to this book, but the narration was awful. It was quite difficult to tell which character was speaking. Sorry MK
