The global bestseller - Origin is the latest Robert Langdon novel from the author of The Da Vinci Code.

Robert Langdon, Harvard professor of symbology and religious iconology, arrives at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to attend the unveiling of an astonishing scientific breakthrough. The evening's host is billionaire Edmond Kirsch, a futurist whose dazzling high-tech inventions and audacious predictions have made him a controversial figure around the world.

But Langdon and several hundred guests are left reeling when the meticulously orchestrated evening is suddenly blown apart. There is a real danger that Kirsch's precious discovery may be lost in the ensuing chaos. With his life under threat, Langdon is forced into a desperate bid to escape Bilbao, taking with him the museum's director, Ambra Vidal. Together they flee to Barcelona on a perilous quest to locate a cryptic password that will unlock Kirsch's secret.
To evade a devious enemy who is one step ahead of them at every turn, Langdon and Vidal must navigate the labyrinthine passageways of extreme religion and hidden history. On a trail marked only by enigmatic symbols and elusive modern art, Langdon and Vidal will come face-to-face with a breathtaking truth that has remained buried - until now.

Very predictable. Dan Brown's unpredictable writing was something that made him stand out in the past. Now it's something that predictable to the point that you can predict major plot points. That was what happened in this book. Narrator is fantastic however.

Dan Brown delivers again with an exciting and informative thriller. Almost as good as the DaVinci Code, and would love to see the movie adaptation. Fantastic!

As you'd expect from Dan Brown - very easy listening and basic entertainment. You won't find anything too taxing in here and can let the story roll on without troubling yourself too much to catch every word, with a fun denouement. Having said that, it does grate a bit how much he treats the reader like a total imbecile - every potential nuance and piece of ambiguity is explained and repeated, just on the slight chance you missed it, every historical concept referred to defined in long but basic detail. Overall, quite fun.

Typically Dan Brown, thought provoking and well written. I also enjoyed the narrator.

Probably my favourite Dan Brown yet, less formulaic and sense for the first time for me as a reader that he is maturing as an author and gave me a glimpse of his personal beliefs; albeit in the form of a novel. Narration excellent!

I really appreciate the detailed writing of Dan Brown. I just found this book a bit of a slow burn. Narrator however did an excellent job.

With some of the previous books in the Robert Langdon series there was a definite formula centred around a strong belief held by a misguided character. This book also followed many of the characteristics from the previous books but I felt it was sufficiently different to offer a new freshness. I found the story intriguing and very thought provoking. As the story started to evolve, I was initially dubious that Dan Brown could do justice to the topic of where humanity comes from and where it might be headed. My concerns were unfounded and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. As with all the series, it was brilliantly read. Possibly my favourite Langdon title yet!

Good narration, but did not enjoy the book as much as I had hoped. The story is not as good as previous Dan Brown books.
