Abridged Audiobook
This book is about Alexander the Great's military strategies with a touch of business strategy thrown in. I rented it for the military strategy and was not disappointed. This book provides a fascinating history of Alexander's strategies. Mostly those strategies involve doing the unexpected and being aggressive rather than defensive. I highly recommend this book if you're interested in military history and/or strategy.
Awesome book. Valuable information on Alexander the Great and contemporary examples of how is strategic wisdom can be applied.
This is a very readable history of the military campaigns of Alexander the Great. However, the leadership lessons are a stretch as applied to modern corporations. The transitions between history and case study are abrupt and not particularly edifying. On the whole, I kept listening because the history was so facinating. I did not take away any real leadership lessons beyond the fact that unlimited power corrupts the individual.
Not great, but has good info on Alexander. It doesn't really get into a full analysis of Alexander's strategy or tactics, just some examples. I wouldn't call this scholarly work, it's more of a biography.
