Summary
Few writers have explored the human dark side with as much insight and power-and in Winter Prey, his shattering New York Times best-seller, Sandford tells his most ice-blooded tale of all. Minneapolis Lieutenant Lucas Davenport has tracked killers in cities across America. But even he may be unprepared to face the savage murderer hunting human prey in the Wisconsin woods this winter.

A thrilling story about a cop's mission to stop a serial killer in the wilderness of Wisconsin in the middle of a freezing storm. This story was very compelling and you really do want the villain to be caught. It is pretty dated and has a lot of tropes that don't really sit well in modern times. If you can look past the early 2010's homophobia, blatant abuse of power from the police force, and uncomfortable scenes through the eyes of the killer, it's a well written story. The narrator did a fantastic job. Absolutely, no complaints.

I just started listening to this book but I can’t get into the story because of the narrator’s incessant lip smacking.

It’s important to read books from less politically correct times, to remind of what sort of ignorance was a part of mainstream beliefs. This is so disgusting though that I just couldn’t get through it.

I’ve been Reading these books in order and have been enjoying this series and the narrator. It took me awhile to really get into this particular book I found it hard to follow Who’s Who and exactly what was going on but then it all slotted into place and I really enjoyed the story.
