Summary
It's hard to find work as a doctor when using your real name will get you killed. So hard that when a reclusive billionaire offers Dr. Peter Brown, aka Pietro Brnwa, a job accompanying a sexy but self-destructive paleontologist on the world's worst field assignment, Brown has no real choice but to say yes. Even if it means that an army of murderers, mobsters, and international drug dealers -- not to mention the occasional lake monster -- are about to have a serious Pietro Brnwa problem.

Facing new and old monsters alike, Dr. Brnwa's story continues in this darkly funny and lightning-paced follow up to Josh Bazell's bestselling debut.

After listening to the rollercoaster of Beat the Reaper I had to immediately jump into Wild Thing. While at first this book felt like a weird Scooby Doo adventure (except for the gratuitous violence and brash descriptions of sexual acts/desires) it always keeps you interested. The character of Pietro Brnwa (aka Dr. Peter Brown aka Lionel Azimuth) seems much more likeable in this novel than he did in Beat The Reaper. In Beat The Reaper there were a few times at the beginning of the book that I just wished someone would knock some sense into him. None of that in Wild Thing. The main character is intelligent and considerate. Don't worry.. he's still a badass! Wild Thing is a pretty cool adventure. Definitely worth checking it out.
